CATHY LORBER

Catharine Lorber earned her B.A. in Greek at U.C.L.A. During her career in commercial numismatics she has worked as an employee or private contractor for Joel L. Malter & Co., Numismatic Fine Arts, Harlan J. Berk Ltd., Antiqua, and Freeman & Sear.

Her research interests lie in the area of Greek numismatics and include, in particular, North Greek coinage, Larissa and Thessaly, the Seleucids, and the Ptolemies. She is the author or coauthor of various articles and of three books: Wealth of the Ancient World; The Nelson Bunk Hunt and William Herbert Hunt Collections (Fort Worth, 1983), with Jane M. Cody and others; Amphipolis: The Civic Coinage in Silver and Gold (Los Angeles, 1990); and Seleucid Coins, Part 1 (New York/Lancaster, 2002), with Arthur Houghton. The second and final part of Seleucid Coins should appear in latter 2006 or early 2007.
