Attica. Aegina. 550-530 BC. Stater, 12.28g. (11h). Obv: Smooth-shelled sea turtle with very thin collar and beaded shell. Rx: Incuse, "Union Jack" pattern. Asyut Group II, 429. Milbank 2. Dewing 1654. This is one of the first issues of Aegina, whose staters became the first world trade coin. An exceptional example, perfectly centered and showing no wear. Somewhat lustrous. Choice EF.
