Sicily, Syracuse, Agathokles. 317-287 BC. Tetradrachm, 16.91gg. (12h). Syracuse, c. 310-295 BC. Obv: ΚΟPAΣ Head of Kore right, wearing stalk of grain as wreath. Rx: ΑΓΑΘΟΚΛΕΙΟΣ Nike standing right holding hammer and nail, about to fasten helmet to top of trophy before her; in lower left field, triskeles. M. Ierardi, AJN 7-8 (1995-96), p. 64, 214 (O59/R144). This is one of the best examples of the late issue of this type. Toned Near Mint State.
