Rx: Venus standing left, holding Victory and scepter; L BVC[A] behind. Crawford 480/8. Sydenham 1061. Sear, Imperators 105. Weakly struck on left side of obverse, but extremely sharp portrait; banker's mark before face. Extremely Fine.

Ex Berk 153, 13 March 2007, lot 251.

A new die combination in Alfoldi, Caesar in 44 v. Chr.: obverse die A2 (pl. CI, 13), reverse die 3 (e.g. pl. C, 4). There are curious features on the unstruck edge of the flan, namely dots and blobs at left on obverse and a triangular shape at lower left on reverse.
